My name is Richard Stutsman and I am from the great state of California born in Redlands, California and shortly after that my family headed north to Foster City, which is just outside San Francisco! At the age of eight my family moved even further north to a small town by the name of Ukiah and that is where I have lived since. I am currently a freshmen attending the University of Oregon. I plan to be a journalist and hopefully work as a sports reporter. I have been a huge baseball fan my entire life and love sports in general! Having been raised in northern California I am a huge Giants and 49ers fan! I played basketball for my highschool team and that was probably the best part of my high school life.
Other than sports, I love talking about politics. I was so excited when I realized that the first presidential election that I would be voting in was going to be one of epic proportions(the 2008 elections). I am fascinated by the workings of the political system and its flaws!
Like the political system in this country I do have flaws of my own, although I may not like to admit it! I tend to be an extremely opinionated and can sometimes come off as a little arrogant. However, when I express my opinion a mean no offense to any body. I also like to play the role of devil’s advocate and argue just for the sake of arguing and seeing how strong some body else’s argument is. I think that that will make me a better journalist!
